The purpose of this survey is to clarify what difficulties visiting nurses in Izumo area have in sharing information with visiting physicians, to cotribute the improvement of quality of home care through consideration about shairing enough information. We sent self-report questionnaire to all 85 visiting nurses in Izumo-city, in January, 2011.
We received answers from 72 nurses(response rates, 84.7%). Analyzing the answers, we concluded there are three categories where the nurses have difficulties:[little bidirection of information given][difficulty of contacting doctors][nurses’ sense of resistance against doctors].
This survey suggests the possibility these difficulties can be solved by physicians’ making efforts such as to make reports about visiting patients, to respond to the information given by the visiting nurses, to fit out lines of contact, to change their attitudes and make good relationships for easier communication, and to understand the roles of visiting nurses.
