Descriptions
The school teachers' attitudes to the school-uniform as it ought to be and the several controversial points caused by their guidances regarding the school-uniform to students were studied. The results obtained were as follows :
The school teachers (elementary school-, junior high school- and high school-ones) answered almost in the affirmative about the role of school-uniform, and few difference among these schools were recognized in their attitudes to the uniform.
It was found by a factor analysis that the attitude to the uniform were mainly composed of 5 factors (sensible-, educational-, functional-, disciplinary- and economical-one). Some few of the students except elementary school-ones were disaffected with uncomfortable school-uniform and the parents of elementary school-students had a lot of oppinions on the functional- and economical-charactor of the uniform.
The teachers who threw their full support behind the school-uniform had emphasized their roles in educational- and functional-area.
