This was a practical new approach for university students to develop their self-expression skills through synthetic art. This project offered an opportunity for students who major in music, fine arts or dance education at Shimane University Faculty of Education to create and blend a piece of contemporary performing art work, objects, graphic designs and stage costumes together. The students worked together for five months as an extracurricular activity. This activity was based on creative works through cooperative activities such as group works with students gathered from various divisions. These cooperative activities increased the students' creative potentials. They were facilitated and supported to develop their investigations into the theme and image of their works together. That helped the students to develop their expressive skills and cooperative skills that are necessary to be teachers. As a result, the synthetic art works that the students created were presented and performed at ”The 24th National University Dance Festival of Japan 2004.”
