In order to investigate influence of material properties on the relation between dispersion coefficient D and pore-velocity v, a mass transfer test was performed with uinform grain-size and non-uniform grain-size(mixed together) glass beads.
From the results obtained, it was observed that relationship D-v was linear, and that the dispersion coefficient increased with grain-size and non-uinformity of grain-size distribution at the same pore-velocity. The relationship D-v was formulated using two parameters representing material properties. The experimental dispersion coefficient agreed with calculations.
