A case of human infestation with the Ixodid tick is reported. A patient, an 26-year-old physician, had unusual sensation his right leg after his laboratory works. The tick identified as an adult female of Haemaphysalis flava Neumann is commonly seen in various wild and domestic animals. He may be infested with tick when he autopsied a hare for the parasitological study in the laboratory. The rare case of the infestation with Haemaphysalis flava is the second identified in Shimane Prefecture, and the ninth reported in Japan.
