What is SWAN?

The Institutional Repository of Shimane University is named SWAN, which stores research result in a digital file and disclose on the internet.

• Increase of a chance of being quoted

• Contributing to the society by disclosing the results

• You can confirm the research results anytime

• Current executives, staff and those who have worked for Shimane University

• Current graduate student and those who have belonged to Shimane University, including Research Student

• Those who approved by the Director of Shimane University Library

• Materials with academic value and meet one of the regulations on the table in “Shimane University Institutional Repository Operational Guidelines”

• Materials which applicant took part in creating

• Materials legitimate in terms of law, university regulation, moral or information security

• Materials have to be in electronic file eligible to be distributed on the internet

Shimane University established “Shimane University Open Access Policy” in 2018. The detail of Open Access Policy is written in “Shimane University Open Access Policy Implementation Guideline”. The Guideline requires the faculty member to register research result, issued in the journal by publishers, academic societies and faculty of Shimane University, on the Institutional Repository of Shimane University “SWAN”.
