医学部における動物実験 : 実験者に求められる倫理性と技術

　現在, 動物実験を行うものに対しては, 動物福祉に配慮した実験を行うことが厳しく求められている｡そして, そのような倫理性に裏打ちされた実験が, 再現性のある信頼度の高い実験結果を得ることにつながるのである｡実験者に求められる最低限の条件は下記の三点である｡
(1)実験の目的と意義を明確に把握すると共に, 使用する動物の性質を熟知していること
(2)実験処置に伴う苦痛の評価法と, その対処法を熟知していること｡
(3)適切な麻酔処置および感染症を防止するための無菌操作などの高度な実験手技に習熟していること｡
Consideration for animal welfare is now being strictly demanded of anyone who conducts animal experiments. This is because experiments carried out under such ethical standards link to obtaining results that are highly reliable and reproducible. The following three conditions are the minimum required of experimenters,
(1)Clear knowledge of the purpose and signifrcanee of the experiment and thorough familiarity with the characteristics of the animals used.
(2)Thorough familiarity with methods of evaluating pain associated with the experimental procedure and with methods of managing it.
(3)Proficiency in advanced experimental techniques, such as appropriate management of anesthesia and aseptic procedures to prevent infection.
