The problem to be treated here are those of rhombic, uniformly laterally loaded, clamped thin plates. The deflection of the plates is small compared to the thickness. Let the angle between edges be a. The displacement of points in the middle surface of the plate will be calculated by the Ritz method for the cases a 45°, 55°, 60°, 70°, 75°, and 90°.
