This paper is a pert of study on "Padagogisches Skizzenbuch". Paul Klee's work "Padagogisches Skizzenbuch" was written in 1924, and published as the first volume of "Bauhaus Books" in 1925. It was his own textbook for art education at the Bauhaus.
Klee portrayed simply and purely, like a child, whatever came into his mind, drawing in obedience to his feelings and coloring according to his mood. He expressed the mystical world of his own inner life. For Klee, teaching and his own creative work were inseparably linked together, and his "Padagogisches Skizzenbuch" based on his teaching experience at the Bauhaus, well illustrates the unity of his creative and educational actinties. In this book we find the secret of his creative life, it is a major influence on his work. The basic element of Klee's formative art is line, and it can be said that his work is the art of line. Simply speaking, klee's "padagogisches Skizzenbuch" too may be called the study of line. |
