環境調和型製鉄法へのアプローチ : 奥出雲の『企業たたら』の歴史に学ぶ鉄鋼業の環境対応技術の方向

Iron and steel making by the traditional Tatara process in Oku-Izumo in Shimane prefecture from 18th centry to the beninning of this century was characteristic in complex management with agriculture and stock-breeding. It should be worthy of note that an ecological system was established which is aimed at present.
By gainning the hint from the history of Tatara in Oku-Izumo，as the new direction of development of technolgy related to the iron and steelmaking，was proposesd the research which aims at，not only solving the problems inherent to iron and steelmakmg, but also solving the enviromental problems in other industries in iron and steelmaking process.
An example of the research from the above stand point of view，the use of wasted wood in steel making process was shown.

　日本学術振興会未来開拓技術開発プロジェクト『環境調和型製鉄プロセスの開発』（代表東京大学 佐野信雄名誉教授）の中で，島根大学担当分の研究の方向を定めるために行った検討結果を報告する．
　『鉄鋼業に起因する問題を解決して環境調和型にする』という従来型のアプローチから一歩進めて，『鉄鋼業が有する技術およぴ設備のポテンシャルを，今日の社会が直面している環境の問題を解決に生かす』という視点が提案の主旨である．これは，奥出雲の『企業たたら』が複眼的経営によって，結果的に『エコロジー的経営』を実現したという（今日の視点での）『先進性』を持っていたという事実にヒントを得たところが大きい.
