映画やテレビドラマなどの映像コンテンツの舞台となっている土地を訪れるコンテンツツーリズムは観光振興の形として定着しており、2000年代に入ってからはアニメ作品を活用したアニメ聖地巡礼が注目され、観光客誘致で経済効果をあげる地域も出てきた。本稿では全国のアニメ聖地（全国アニメ聖地88か所）に対するアンケート調査による分析を通じて、アニメ聖地巡礼における巡礼者の行動や巡礼地域に与えている影響・効果をデータを基に考察し、アニメ聖地巡礼を活用した観光振興・地域振興の課題とコンテンツツーリズムの持つ一過性を超えたアニメ聖地巡礼による地域振興の継続の可能性を示す。

Content tourism, which visits places that are used as the stage for video content such as movies and TV dramas, has become a well-established form of tourism promotion. In some areas, attracting customers has brought economic benefits. This paper examines the behavior of anime pilgrimages and the impact and effects on the pilgrimage areas based on data from a questionnaire survey of anime sacred sites nationwide. We will show the challenges of tourism promotion and regional development utilizing the content tourism and the possibility of continuing regional development through anime sacred place pilgrimage beyond the transient nature of content tourism.
