| Description | A saponite of clay mineral described in this paper is pure and represents a magnesium rich member of the montmorillonite group. X-ray, differential and chemical data of this saponite are presented. The influence of Mg^<+2>, as the exchangeable base, on the nature of the X-ray diffraction and differential thermal diagrams leads to some interesting problems.
