Description
The bone mineral densities (BMD) of lumbar spine (L1, L2, L3, L4) in 158 community-dwelling Japanease men and women were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. The value of L1 was the smallest and L2, L3, L4 showed a larger BMD value in this order. The correlation coefficient between L2 and L3 was higher than the other cases. The remarkable decrease of BMDs were observed in women aged over 50 years. In condusion, the averege BMD value of L2, L3 end L4 was the most proper index of the Iumbar spine mineral content.
