A human case of infestation with the hard tick is reported. An arthropod-like structure with chitinoid surface was found on the histopathological serial sections of the breast tumor of 76-year-old man. The remaining block was deparaffinized to examine the specimen by scanning electron microscopy. It was defined as Ixodes nipponensis. This is also a rare case that a tumor was formed by the tick invasion in the subcutaneous tissue.
