The purpose of this paper is to examine the attitudes of faculty members toward university extension at Shimane University.
First this analysis focuses on typifying of faculty members toward university extension at Shimane University. Specifically their future needs toward university extension works are classified into four faculty types by using the past experience.
As a result, Continuancetype(74),Hidden demandtype(67)and Indifferencetype (28)in four faculty types accounted for96% of all types(176).
Then I attemped to consider the attitudes toward university extension and problems in three principal faculty types.
