What let Jewish music especially differ and characterize from the other nation's one is Diaspora which has lasted two thousand years (or more in some cases). Through Diaspora, in the commuinties in various districts, the Jews, having kept Synagogue song as spiritual support on the one hand, have assimilated their own music to the circumferential one. Hence they have developed the remarkable folk music.
This paper surveys the real circumstances of music in Diaspora. |
