人文学分野からの産学連携への挑戦 : 島大和菓子プロジェクトの事例から

抄録・要旨

　本稿では、島根大学法文学部の学生と教員、地元の老舗和菓子メーカーが協働で運営するPBL 型正課外教育活動「島大和菓子プロジェクト」の事例について報告する。本事例は、日本文学を主に学ぶ学生が課題解決の主体となり、学部教育の中で身につけてきた専門知を活かし、付加価値を生み出すという方向で、企業と共同で新たな商品やサービスを開発し、学生の成長や学習意欲向上に繋げている。学生が知的生産の担い手、企業は教師役、教員はサポート役という役割分担をすることで事業を円滑に進め、三者とも成果が得られた。また、先行研究で指摘されている産学連携のリスクの回避に、学生がもつ専門知識の尊重や教員の役割強化が重要であることを指摘する。
　この事例を踏まえ、学部生が主体となり、教員が補佐・監督する産学連携モデルを構築し、従来型の産学連携モデルから知識生産の担い手を転換させることで、研究大学に比して教員やポスドク・博士課程の院生の数に乏しい地方大学や、人文学のような従来の産学連携では想定されていなかった様々な専門分野で産学連携を実施できる可能性を示す。

抄録・要旨

　This paper presents a case study of the “Shimadai Japanese Confectionery Project,” a Project-Based Learning (PBL) initiative jointly undertaken by students and faculty from Shimane University in collaboration with long-established local Japanese confectionery manufacturers. The study explores a different approach to industry-university collaboration, traditionally involving researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students as the primary participants. In contrast, this project is distinguished by its focus on undergraduate students majoring in Japanese literature as the primary problem-solvers. By applying the knowledge they gained at the university level, the students collaborated with the company to develop high-value-added products and services. This case illustrates the potential of the humanities in fostering meaningful industry-university partnerships.
