| Description | 島根県八束郡大庭村（現・松江市大庭町および八雲町平原）は、一八八九年（明治二二）の「町村制」施行にともなう全国的町村合併に際して、大庭村・佐草村・山代村・大草村・平原村の五村が合併して成立した。大庭村は、一九二五年に「優良村（模範村）」として内務大臣から表彰されたが、それ以前の同村内では、長く政治的対立が続いていた。本稿は、八雲立つ風土記の丘資料館所蔵の「大庭村役場文書」等をもとに、このような大庭村の政治状況とその基盤となっている行政村と大字（旧村）の関係、同村の経済構造および階層的社会構成を分析したものである。
Oba Village consists of 5 old villages, Oba, Sakusa, Yamashiro, Okusa and Hirahara and established in 1889. It was commended as a Model Village by Home Affairs Minister in 1925. But formerly it had been holding internal political strife. This study unravels the reason why Oba village had such strife through analyzing its political, economical and social situation.
