Description
Working efficiency of tractor on the reclaimed softlandis mostlyinfluenced by the sinkage of tractor wheel Accordingly, the relation between trayelling resistance and sinkage of rolling tractor wheelwas investigatedusing the Modelrolling wheel.
The test results are as follows ;
(1) The Travelling resistance has alinear relation to weight on the wheel in low soil moisture, while parabolic increasing in high soil moisture. It is the same tendancy as above both on two wheel tractor and double wheel tractor.
(2) The sinkage of wheel has a linear relation to weight on the wheel although it changes depend on the soil condition. But in low soil moisture, the difference of these sinkage becomes very small.
(3) The relation of the integrated value of cone penetrating resistance from ground surface to the depth of sinkage to the travelling resistance per one wheel was a linear, although it changes depend on the soil condition. This relation was represented by the same line both on two wlheel tractor and double wheel tractor.
As a conclusion, if we measure the cone penetrating resistance of farm and the travelling resistance and sinkage of elementary condition of tractor wheel, for instance two wheel tractor, the travelling resistance of many other condition of tractor wheel can be estimated.
