Graduation research is important for each student as a final step to cultivate problem solving skills. In order to achieve better quality of training courses, cross-sectional analysis of the papers of the finished courses may give useful information on future improvement. We compared graduation works in the next five-years to in the first five-years. The collected 339 papers were analyzed in terms of each research category and each period by using the following items: research field of supervisors, design, sampling, objects and their number, methods, existence of figures and tables, arrangement of figures and tables, consideration of ethical issues, and the results of morphological analysis of subjects.
The result shows that the number of research field increased, compared with the first to fifth period. Since supervisors still place priorities on students’ interests even the subjects are out of their expertise, opening the course of school nursing teacher and support of assistant professors are thought to be the major factors of the enlargement of the field. Although the papers were better prepared than those during the first to fifth period when some papers lack some description especially in methods, inappropriate usage of figures and tables were observed in some papers, which shows that pertinent advice were necessary for preparation of graduation thesis. |
