The establishment of the first special class for mentally handicapped children in Oki district has been reported in the previous thesis. A school for them has been invited to set up ultimately in Oki disrict recently. Some of them who had been in the special class moved in to the new school. The school, therefore, will refer to the manner of the special class in its quality of education. In this sense, the investigation of the history of the special class in Saigo Elementally School becomes more important. Considering to publish detailed studies in the near future, we report some distinguishing traits in general special classes in Oki district.
