In 1967, the selection forests of Maate were investigated on stand structure, and the permanent plots had been set up at Wajima City. This paper deals with the change of stand structure and the volume increment of these plots in the first cutting cycle.
The current annual volume increment per ha of Koonosu, Yamamoto, and Futamata plots were 11.6, 7.2, and 11.5 m^3 respectively. Koonosu plot was youngest in age, lowest in stand density, and fairly understocked among the three plots.
For two plots(Koonosu and Futamata) within the selecting experiment the overall regression of point density(B) on current annual diameter increment(I_d) was :
I_d = a-b・B
The angle-summation technique was useful for silvicultural investigation.
