The purpose of this study is to evaluate the programs (i.e. "Home Projects" and "Future Homemakers of Japan") implemented at various high schools within the Shimane and Tottori Prefectures. The evaluation includes the current conditions of the programs as well as the opinions of the participating high school students. Another purpose of this study is to obtain data pertaining to the examination of the possible state of future activity of this nature.
The results are as follows: In the rate of the "Home Projects" program, a distinct difference became apparent among the students in terms of their ability to understand the concepts being administered. As a whole, females were better able to understand the concepts of the program than males. Also, those in the vocational department were better able to understand the concepts of the program than those belonging to the normal department.
As for the "Future Homemakers of Japan" program, a similar difference was apparent among the participants in terms of understanding the program concepts. Those part of the "Home Club Executive" group were more inclined to grasp the stated concepts. Moreover, as within the "Home Projects" program, females tended to have a better understanding of the project concepts than males did. Very few students felt that the "Future Homemakers of Japan" program was of little use; therefore, they advocate the continuance of this activity.
