This memorandums outlined the history of the Quaternary Resarches in San'in district. Firstly，researches of Tottori sand dune and Daisen volcano were looked back at up to 1945. After the war，Quaternary research became vigorous. It owe much to several Quaternary research groups in san'in district. Daisen Loam Research group made clear the stratigraphy of Daisen tephra. Stratigaphy and structure of the Tsunozu formation and the Tottori sand dune were made clear.13;
