The Institutional Repository of Shimane University is named SWAN, which stores research result in a digital file and disclose on the internet.

Eligibility to register research results
  • Current executives, staff and those who have worked for Shimane University
  • Current graduate student and those who have belonged to Shimane University, including Research Student
  • Those who approved by the Director of Shimane University Library
Eligible research results to be registered
  • Materials which applicant took part in creating
  • Materials legitimate in terms of law, university regulation, moral or information security
  • Materials have to be in electronic file eligible to be distributed on the internet

Relationship to Open Access Policy

Shimane University established “Shimane University Open Access Policy” in 2018. The detail of Open Access Policy is written in “Shimane University Open Access Policy Implementation Guideline”. The Guideline requires the faculty member to register research result, issued in the journal by publishers, academic societies and faculty of Shimane University, on the Institutional Repository of Shimane University “SWAN”.
