山間地高校生の定着と移動に関する意識

　本稿は、山間地に住む高校生が地元に定住することや都会に移住することについてどのように考えているのか、自由記述による回答を含む調査票調査のデータの分析を通して論じることを目的とする。高校生の自由記述による回答では、「広い世界を経験する」や「地域貢献をする」といった言葉が目立った。しかしこれらは、将来どこで暮らしているかについてのかれらのイメージとは関係していなかった。かれらの将来の居住先についてのイメージは漠然としており、親の意向に影響されていることが分かった。
　かれらはまた、都会に対する夢や憧れを述べず、地元で暮らすことの安心感を述べていた。他の地域での生活を知らないこれらの高校生にとっては、「よく知っている世界」だからこそ得られる安心が最も重要となることが示唆された。地方の若年層人口流出を議論するうえでは、「よく知っている世界」という安心についての詳細な分析が必要になるということを論じた。

This paper aims at discussing how high school students who live in a rural area think about residing in their hometown or moving out toward the urban area by analyzing the data from the survey including an open-ended question.
In their open-ended answers, the expression such as “an experience of living in the wider world” and “contribution to the town” frequently appeared. However, it was suggested that these had nothing to do with the image of their own future life. It seemed that their image of the future was ambiguous and influenced by the hope of their parents.
We paid attention to that they didn’t talk about their dreams or longing for urban cities and that they spoke of a sense of security with living in their hometown. For those high school students who don't know life in another region, the safety in their "familiar world" may be the most important point. Further investigation of “a familiar world” is needed to discuss the decrease of the younger population in the rural area.
