This study investigated a relationship between preschool children's scripts and story telling about grocery shopping. Preschool children were asked to construct plans to remedy 8 mishaps in grocery shopping and to make a story about grocery shopping with a presentation of pictures. Older children were also asked to make a story about a quite different shopping from a normal grocery shopping. Older children constructed realistic remedy plans more than younger children. And the more children constructed remedy plans,the longer story they told w1th adverbial word.s The more children constructed remedy plans the better children managed to tell a story about a quite different shopping from a normal grocery shopping. The results were discussed from a point of flexibility of knowledge.
