The samples of branches were cut in the model stand of the clone seedlings of Crypromeria japonica naturally regenerating in Mt. Sanbe planted in the nursery of Shimane University. The length of branches(L_B), primary branches(L_<1B>) and secondary branches(L_<2B>), the diameter of branches(D_B), the number of secondary branches(N<2B>), the weight of primary branches(W_<1B>), secondary branches and leaves(W_<2LB>), and total branches and leaves(W_<1B>+W_<2LB>) were measured and the value of L_B/D_B, N_<2B>/L_<1B> and W_<2LB>/W_<1B>+W_<2LB> were calculated.
1. Each character and the calculated values were different among clones and showed the characteristic property of clones.
2. The clones having long branches showed a tendency that the diameter of branches, the numher and length of secondary branches, and the weight of secondary branches and leaves were large. On the other hand, the form coefficient of branches(L_B/D_0・_B) and the density of secondary branches were generally small.
3. 0n the natural Cryptomeria japonica regenerating in a local region, the characters of branches were very different among the individuals. In the region where the snow damage often occerred, we must pay the attention in the selection of excellent clones.
