搾乳牛の適正な蹄形についての検討

On the Reasonable Shape of Hoof in Dairy Cows

In order to clarify the reasonable shape of hoof in dairy cows, seven regions of hoof after trimming were measured with twenty milking cows kept in stanchion stall barn.
1) Measures of each region in hoof were as follows :
Front height: hoof of front legs 5.9cm, hoof of hind legs 56cm, hind height: 3.6cm, 3.3cm, upper length 9.3cm, 8.9cm, lower length: 14.4cm, 13.7cm, length of front incline : 7.2cm, 7.8cm, lower width : 11.1cm, 9.5cm, angle of inclination : 45.3゜, 47.7゜, volume : 455<cm>^^^3, 384<cm>^^^3.
2) Proportions of each measures in hoof to upper length were as follows :
Front height : hoof of front legs 63.4%, hoof of hind legs 62.9%, hind height : 38.7%, 37.1%, lower length : 154.8%, 153.9%, length of front incline : 77.4%, 87.6%, lower width 119.3%, 106.7%.
