In this study we examined the pluralistic ignorance on the basis of the findings from our research projects. The pluralistic ignorance we concerned with was about the man as it seems and the woman as it seems. The common sense about masculinity and femininity is typically the social reality. In the investigation 4 times we asked subjects about the self image, the man whom they think it seems with the woman it seems, and the man whom (they think) the world thinks it seems, with the woman it seems. The results of the factor analysis of 20 times using these data showed the pluralistic ignorance of 6 examples. We discussed the implication of the pluralistic ignorance in studying the social reality.
