Nowadays there is a growing problem for children to eat alone rather than with the family. As well as the problem of eating whatever they want to rather than what has been prepared. Therefore there is a growing need to improve school children's management-ability in dietary life. In response to this need, dietary education focusing on elementary school's school lunch has practiced. The purpose of this study is to evaluate effects of dietary education focusing on school lunch in conjunction with sweet potato cultivation.
The results are as follows:
The students enjoyed school lunch and were satisfied with the time during with they ate. They understood how to cultivate sweet potato and they also showed an understanding of nutrition. Especially the first grade and second grade children who had cultivated the sweet potato rated school lunch very highly.
