この小論は平成５年度より８年度前期までの３年半の期間に行ったビデオ教材を便用した授業の実践報告と展望、および提言をまとめたものである。本論は １）教材紹介と授業展開 ２）試験と評価の方法 ３）授業達成度と教材評価 ４）学生による評価 ５）教養英語におけるビデオ教材の有効性の５節から成り、＜おわりに＞として島根大学におけるビデオ教材の可能性と展望を述べている。
